Now Hiring: Production Manager

The Production Manager oversees all operational procedures and workflows across manufacturing at Citizen Vinyl. This position provides forecasting of manufacturing capacity, workload, capacity, outputs and personnel requirements to upper management. It sets manufacturing goals; provides leadership to all manufacturing staff; plans and communicates schedules; oversees production schedules; is responsible for communication about customers’ orders and collaborates with sales and customer service teams on what and who is communicating directly to customers. Always ensures quality standards are being upheld for Citizen Vinyl records.

Daily tasks of the Production Manager include: Anticipating workload and personnel needs for production success; holding accountability to staff for goals and following rules; upholding standard operating procedures and processes; ensuring all staff are trained and understand and meets the goals of production; that all personnel are abiding by all safety and quality standards; making improvements to efficiencies and workflows for lower costs and higher margins.

A just-pressed vinyl record sits on the pressing machine in front of a vibyl disc that is about to be pressed into a record.

The Production Manager must be able to administer written and verbal instructions and work within a production/manufacturing environment. Must be able to stand or sit for extended periods of time and occasionally lift up to 55 lbs.

● Supervisor Responsibility: Manufacturing staff - all (currently 8)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

● Maintaining a fair and productive work environment

● Strong people leader with great people skills and communication skills

● Motivating, supporting and supervision of production staff

● Ensures daily goals are met and implements metrics & processes to improve using data and traceable results

● Solve problems with PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Act) methodologies

● Meet financial budgets & targets

● Implement employee structure to meet manufacturing goals and efficiencies

● Hold all employees accountable to work, efficiency, punctuality, cross-training, safety & quality standards - all in accordance with Citizen Vinyl Employee Handbook

● Uphold standards for cosmetic and audible quality of records being produced, ensuring quality standards are maintained

● Ensure safety of all employees are first and foremost, creating new safety measures to ensure all personnel safety, equipment & building safety standards are being followed in accordance to OSHA.

● Implement cross-training matrix

● Monitor and create SOPs for all work processes in all areas, by monitoring processes and making adjustments as needed and then check effectiveness and document changes.

● Ensure all invoices to customers are accurate and timely

● Maintain overhead expenses with continued attention to need and effectiveness of services and staff positions

● Ensure preventative maintenance schedules exist and are adhered to for mechanical equipment and infrastructure equipment

● Coordinating with maintenance technicians and maintenance personnel to ensure timely repairs

● Conducting and participating in leadership meetings on a regular basis, communicating regularly with leadership regarding problems impacting production

● Evaluating machine resources to ensure continued production and minimal downtime

● Using company’s computer software for order management and organization of workflows


EDUCATION:

● College degree or equivalent through manufacturing work experience


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

● At least 5 years of managerial manufacturing experience

● Mechanical, electrical and technical problem solving experience is a plus

● Prior supervisory or management experience required


TECHNICAL SKILLS/ABILITIES:

● Computer proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office. High Proficiency in Excel/Spreadsheets and PowerPoint is a benefit.

● Excellent communication & interpersonal skills with a proven ability to communicate effectively both orally and written.

● Excellent organizational, planning and time management skills. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and is comfortable and successful in a fast-paced environment.

● Knowledge of audio production, recording, mastering and the vinyl record production process would be a plus
