AC Sapphire, winner of the 2022 NewSong Music Performance & Songwriting Competition, is currently recording an album — part of her Grand Prize package — at Citizen Studios. Last week she was joined in the studio by 2019 NewSong Grand Prize Winner Jobi Riccio on vocals and guitar. AC’s album also includes contributions from Claude Coleman Jr., drummer for Ween, and one of the 2022 judges who selected AC as NewSong’s Grand Prize Winner. Claude is pictured below, far right.

Asheville-based singer-songwriter Anya Hinkle won Best WORLD Award in the 2023 U.S.A. Songwriting Competition for her song “Eitel (Fly) Away.”

Anya will release her newest album, OCEANIA, in 2024. It was recorded at Citizen Studios, produced by legendary Irish producer Kevin Moloney (U2, Sinéad O’Connor) and featuring brilliant Irish guitarist John Doyle (Solas, Tim O’Brien, Joan Baez) and innovative slide guitarist Billy Cardine (pictured below).
